This institute is dedicated to promoting the spread of information and practice of Tai Chi, Qigong and other internal martial arts. We are dedicated to providing great information from great Chinese Masters to add to any teacher's repertoire.

All classes, seminars, online work and home practice is applied towards a Certification Program.

 

This document serves as and ongoing record of goals and progress attained through the practice of Tai Chi over the years.

Programs of study and materials provided are designed to best support the individual growth and development of a home practice. It is our goal to that you understand clearly how to maximize the benefits of training internal energy and achieve your goals.

Unless you attend regular classes or attend Brain Workshop Seminars, Certification programs are custom developed based on the practitioners experience. Enrollment in the Certification program includes a School Membership that entitles students to discounts on all video products. Students can enroll in a Certification Program at any time while registering for a class session or workshop.

This certification is provided for every person interested in exploring the health benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong. The practitioner understands a basic compliment of exercises from several powerful qigong training sets with essential meditation techniques including tools for relaxation, building and moving qi, building internal strength and correct posture. Student understands tools for increasing joint and bone strength, biomechanics and balance techniques for increasing athletic and sports performance in healthy individuals and to rehabilitate injuries and for chronic pain relief in others. Wu style Longevity qigong is practiced along with the Eight Pieces of Brocade Qigong among other forms. Susan's Energy Gathering and Blood Circulation Qigong and Eight Pieces of Brocade Qigong are available to supplement practice and are highly recommended.

Instruction provided for Seniors and persons who need to start any kind of movement at a little slower pace. We explore the health benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong first with gentle qigong then learn gentle muscle- and tendon-strengthening movements are extremely effective in increasing mobility, flexibility, balance, coordination, and bone density without causing fatigue. Students understand how to improve posture to return to a straight spine and a body in balance. Susan has extensive experience working with seniors and those in pain. She is gentle in her approach, allowing the practitioner to move at their own pace. Every caution is taken to protect the student from further pain. Remarkable results are frequently obtained within a short period of time, even by those who have been suffering with a high degree of pain for a long time.

Ancient Chinese Qigong exercises use specific moving meditation techniques and mind exercises for increasing energy or qi, increasing blood circulation, stress reduction, calming the nervous system, and strengthening joints. Techniques include: meditation, gentle movement, self massage, acupressure point stimulation, energy healing exercises for the internal organs to improve general metabolism and the immune system.

Shanti SchoolQIGONG INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATE

The Qigong Instructor Certificate documents a high level of training and cultivation of energy, gong fu, a commitment to personal growth and an integration of the universal principles of Tai Chi into every aspect of physical and spiritual life. Instructors assist in teaching Tai Chi and Qigong for Seniors and Therapeutic Qigong for Arthritis, Chronic Pain, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Stroke. Instructors also present in their area of research at Moon Over the Mountains Women's Retreats and other Taiji Retreats, as well as within special interest groups and the community. Publication, participation and funding for controlled studies is available and aided through The Institute of Research and Education. Instructors practice Wu Style First Section and Second Section, Wu Style Longevity Qigong, Lan Shou, Chen Taiji, Wild Goose Qigong, Tibetan Qigong various weapons forms including Chen Style double edge sword and broadsword. Student continues higher level training with visiting Master's, at least one per year. Contact Shanti School to discuss instructor certification. Price varies according to your personal plan. Description of Training

 

Level I- Qigong: Fundamentals of Energy Healing,  Blood Circulation & Tai Chi Basic Training This level training is provided for every woman and man interested in exploring the health benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong. A basic set of exercises is presented from several powerful qigong training sets with essential meditation techniques including tools for relaxation, building and moving qi, building internal strength and correct posture. This class also offers tools for increasing joint and bone strength, biomechanics and balance training for increasing athletic and sports performance in healthy individuals and to rehabilitate injuries and for chronic pain relief in others. Wu style tai chi form and longevity qigong is introduced. Susan's Energy Gathering and Blood Circulation Qigong Workout Video is available to supplement home practice and is highly recommended.


 

Level II: Qigong & Advanced Tai Chi Training TechniquesA continuation of study for second-level beginners and more serious students focusing on building internal martial fighting strength, increasing blood circulation (looseness) and gathering qi energy. Exercises train sophisticated biomechanics integrated with mind energy movement and the development of  neijing force. Students continue to develop a dynamic spine, zhong ding (spine energy), spiral bone mechanics and chan ssu chin (spiral energy force.) 

Push hands Two-person sensitivity exercises further train awareness of one's own energy and energy movement in others. Many students develop their natural ability for hands on healing and other forms of perception of subtle energies.


 

Tai Chi And qigong formsStudents receive instruction in a variety of Tai Chi and Qigong forms to learn and experience their unique specific energetic and physical qualities including: Wu Style Tai Chi, Traditional Chen Style Tai Chi, Eight Pieces of Brocade, Wild Goose Qigong, Wu Style Tai Chi for Arthritis,  Lan Shou Quan,  Lan Shou Broadsword, Tibetan Taijiquan and Qigong.

Beginning Tai Chi and Qigong Exploratory Workshop —This workshop mirrors the first several weeks of regular classes with a focus on energy and blood circulation techniques. This seminar is packed with information for every woman and man interested in exploring the health benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong. Nature Qigong —Every outdoor workshop or retreat includes qigong meditations, visualizations, and movements which connect and expand us into the elements and energies of the natural world. Your physical body dissolves and the boundary of the body and the outside world becomes less clear, even while experiencing increased clarity. Tai Chi grounds you to give you a place to remember to return to, to expand your presence in the world, and to gather energy. You cultivate awareness of the true dimension of your being and your true part of the whole. We walk, communicate with and explore energy differences in the flora, fauna, and landscape, including archeological sites. We learn to gather energy from the fire, sun, stars, earth.
