Each
year Master George Xu hosts this awesome week-long taiji camp, held
in the beautiful coastal redwoods near Santa Cruz, California. He
is an excellent teacher and one of the rare, high-level masters
sharing internal secrets openly.
Master
Yu Chen Yong will teach Xing-Yi 5 Elements, Hou Bai Xing-Yi 12 animals,
Ba Gua internal power training, Ba Gua short form and usage, with
2 men fighting and push hand training. In this seminar he will demonstrate
the difference between the Xin Yin Taiji and Ba Gua. He will also
explain the northern China's Xing-Yi, Ba Gua, Yang Ban Hou style
Taiji secrets, and internal martial arts principle and its characteristics.
Master
Yu Chen Yong was
born in 1943 in Tian Jing, China. He started his training as a wrestler
in 1953 then moved to Taiji in 1957 with famous Master Wu and Master
Niu. He also studied Ba Gua with famous Masters such as Gao Yi Shen
and Yang Ban Hou, large frame Taiji with Master Niu Lian Yuan, and
Zhao Bao Style Taiji with Master Hou and Master Yue. One of his
teachers is the very famous master Han Mu Xia who defeated the Russian
champion wrestler in 1930, and then went on to win 10 gold medals
from 10 different countries. The medals are now in the China National
Historical Museum. In 2000, at the master performance in Tian Jing,
Master Yu won 1st place for the title of "best Master performance."
In 2005, Master Yu acquired famous master Zhao Bao Tai Ji title
from Wu Dang Mountain.
Tuition:
$600. Includes room and board and camp t-shirt. Add $40 if you register

Camp Information
Where:
The Jones Gulch YMCA Camp is located in the beautiful redwoods about
one hour south of San Francisco. Take Highway 1 to Pescadero Road,
then south on Jones Gulch Road. A van will be available for transportation
from the San Francisco Airport for $10, one way.
Transportation:
The shuttle van will be at San Francisco
International Airport at the USAirways outdoor departure top level
(2nd floor) 12:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on June 12. (Look for the Taiji
Camp sign.) Call George Xu at 415-664-4578 when you arrive.
If you arrive before or after take the Blue Super Shuttle from the
airport to the home of George Xu, 4309 Lincoln Way, SF, next to
Golden Gate Park. We can take you to camp from there, too ($15 each
way). Shuttles may not be exactly at these times, try for earlier
flight if you can. Also departure time should be later in the afternoon
on Sunday, if possible.
Lodging:
Dorm-style bunks are provided. Participants bring their own bedding
or sleeping bags. Setting up your own tent is permitted. Separate
housing for couples is available. Bring: Sleeping bag, pillow, flashlight,
plenty of workout clothes, towels, toiletries, swimsuit, notebook,
camera. No animals, guns, alcoholic beverages, or drugs.
Food:
Three complete meals prepared by a professional staff in a commercial
kitchen are provided daily. Participants must provide their own
specialty food for unusual diets and food allergies. Vegetarian
food is available, please reserve in advance (see
registration form.)
